Among the four available posts, one position is exclusively reserved for individuals belonging to the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, specifically those with locomotor disabilities.
Educational Qualification: Applicants should have completed their 10+2/XII or its equivalent from a recognized Board.
Direct recruitment will be conducted through the following process:
- A written competitive examination will be held, which carries a weightage of 60 marks.
- Candidates must demonstrate a typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. This typing test will be assigned a weightage of 40 marks.

a) SSC/10th standard from a recognized State/Central Board with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

a) SSSC/HSC/12th in Science with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the relevant field.

Educational Qualification:
Option 1: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree from a recognized university, specializing in Hindi or English. The degree program should include English or Hindi as a compulsory elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.

Option 2: Applicants must have a Master’s degree from a recognized university in any discipline other than Hindi or English. Nonetheless, the medium of instruction and examination for the degree should be Hindi or English. Also, candidates must have English or Hindi as a required or elective course at the degree level.
OR,
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with Hindi and English as either compulsory or elective subjects. Alternatively, one of the subjects should have been the medium of examination, while the other subject must be a compulsory elective subject. In addition, candidates should have a recognized diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa. This qualification should be obtained from a Central/State Government institute or a government undertaking under the Government of India.

Applicants must hold a first-class B.Sc (Science) or equivalent degree, or a first-class Bachelor of Library Science degree. Candidates must also have a minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience in the subject.
OR,
Candidates should hold a first-class diploma in Engineering/Technology of a full-time duration of three years or its equivalent. Furthermore, candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of extensive experience in the relevant field.
OR,
Applicants should possess an M.Sc or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks. Alternatively, candidates may hold a B.E/B.Tech or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience in the field.
Other Eligibility Criteria Of WII Recruitment 2023
Age Limit: Age limits for various positions at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun:
1. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS): 18 years to 27 years
2. Assistant Grade – III: 18 years to 27 years
3. Technician: 18 years to 28 years
4. Technical Assistant (Field): 18 years to 28 years
5. Assistant Director (OL): 18 years to 27 years
6. Senior Technical Officer: Not exceeding 40 years
Age Relaxations: Applicants from SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other qualified groups are entitled to age relaxations under Government of India laws and regulations, which are subject to change. Nevertheless, when applying for unreserved positions, SC/ST/OBC applicants are not eligible for age relaxation. Candidates are recommended to refer to the official rules and notices issued by the appropriate authorities for particular details about age relaxation for different categories.
Application Fees:
- Candidates must submit a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 700/-. This fee includes Rs. 500/- as the application fee and Rs. 200/- as the processing fee.
- The application fee and processing fee should be paid through a Demand Draft or Pay Order from any nationalized bank.
- The Demand Draft or Pay Order should be drawn in favor of the Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
- No other mode of payment for the application fee will be accepted.
- Once the fee is paid, it will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- However, candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD category and all female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee of Rs. 500/- for reserved posts.
- For these candidates, only the processing fee of Rs. 200/- needs to be paid through a Demand Draft or Pay Order drawn in favor of the Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
