Indian Air Force Recruitment 2023 Details
Positions Available:
- AFCAT Entry:
- Flying Branch: 38 posts
- Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: 165 posts
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical): 114 posts
- NCC Special Entry:
- Flying Branch: 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC.
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Air Force Recruitment 2023
Age Limit
Flying Branch: Candidates must be between 20 and 24 years of age as on 1st January 2025, i.e., born between 2nd January 2001 to 1st January 2005 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates with a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years, i.e., born between 2nd January 1999 to 1st January 2005 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: Candidates must be between 20 and 26 years of age as on 1st January 2025, i.e., born between 2nd January 1999 to 1st January 2005 (both dates inclusive).
Marital Status
- In order to enroll in the course, it is essential for candidates to be unmarried at the time of starting their training.
- Please note that marriage during the training period is strictly prohibited.
Educational Qualification
Flying Branch
Candidates applying for the Flying Branch should meet the following requirements:
- Mandatory passing of 10+2 level with a minimum of 60% marks each in Mathematics and Physics.
- Graduation with a minimum of three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent. OR
- BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent. OR
- Clearing of Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch
Candidates applying for the Ground Duty (Technical) Branch should have:
- Minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
- Minimum four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University. OR
- Clearing of Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent in the relevant disciplines.

Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch
Candidates applying for the Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch should meet the following criteria:
- Administration: Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum three years course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent or having cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent.
- Accounts Branch: Passed 10+2 and completed graduation in any of the following streams with 60% marks or its equivalent from a recognized university:
- B. Com Degree (Minimum three years course).
- Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance)
- Qualified CA/CMA/CS/CFA.
- B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.
NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)
Candidates applying for the NCC Special Entry in the Flying Branch should fulfill the following criteria:
- NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate acquired on or after 1st December 2017.
- Minimum of 60% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level.
- Graduates with a minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent. OR
- BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent. OR
- Clearing of Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)/Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or its equivalent.
