India Post Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Age
The age limit for applicants varies based on the post they are applying for. Here’s a breakdown:
- Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant: Between 18-27 years
- Postman & Mail Guard: Between 18-27 years
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Between 18-25 years
- Relaxation in upper age limit: 5 years for all candidates, and an additional 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Educational and Other Qualifications
Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
- Knowledge of working on a computer.
Postman and Mail Guard:
- 12th standard pass from a recognized Board.
- Proficiency in the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division.
- Knowledge of working on a computer.
- Valid license to drive a two-wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle (For the post of Postman only). Note that Persons with Benchmark Disability are exempted from the possession of a license.

Meritorious Sportsperson Criteria
To be considered a meritorious sportsperson for this recruitment, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Represented a State or the Country in National or International competitions in sports/games mentioned in the notification.
- Represented their university in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in sports/games mentioned in the notification.
- Represented the State School teams in the National Sports/Games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in sports/games mentioned in the notification.
- Received National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

India Post Recruitment 2023 Method of Selection
The selection process is comprehensive and follows these guidelines:
- Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be eligible for inclusion in the provisional merit list based on their preferences for both cadre and Postal Circle.
- The provisional merit list will be prepared based on the information provided in the online application portal. No additional information will be entertained offline before the provisional merit list is prepared.
- Candidates are advised to provide details of their highest participation or achievement in sports. For instance, if a candidate has participated in both National and International events, they should submit details of all valid Form-1 events.
How to Apply for India Post Recruitment 2023?
To apply for these prestigious positions, follow these steps:
- Visit the official website https://dopsportsrecruitment.cept.gov.in.
- Submit your application in online mode, indicating your preference for both Cadres (Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postman, Mail Guard, and Multi Tasking Staff) and Postal Circles.
The closing date for the submission of the online application form is December 09, 2023. There will be a window for Application Form Correction from December 10, 2023, to December 14, 2023. After the closing date for receipt of online applications, candidates will have five days to correct or modify their online application parameters.
India Post Recruitment 2023 Application Fee
- Fee payable: Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only)
- Women candidates, Transgender candidates, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) are exempt from the payment of the fee.
- The fee can be paid online through UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, etc.
- Online fee payment can be made by candidates up to the closing date for the receipt of the application.
Candidates shortlisted in the provisional merit list will need to produce several documents during verification. These documents include the printout of the submitted application form, valid documents related to age, educational qualifications, knowledge of computer, and more.
